Can You Put an EV Charger on a 100 Amp Panel?
Often, yes. Whether it works depends on the rest of your home’s electrical load, not just the panel size. A licensed electrician does a load calculation under the Ontario Electrical Safety Code to find out.

What decides it?
Your home’s total electrical load decides it: the size of the home, and whether your stove, dryer, water heater and heating are electric or gas. A home with gas appliances often has room for a charger at a lower setting.
What if the load calculation says no?
You still have two good choices. An EV load manager watches your home’s power use and slows the charger when needed, so no panel upgrade is required. Or upgrade to 200 A, which gives the house room for the future.
How much does it cost?
A short run with room in the panel starts from $1,595 plus HST. Installs with a load manager, or a charger plus a 200 A upgrade, are priced from your photos.
Do I need a permit?
Yes. Every EV charger install in Ontario needs an ESA permit. We pull it and book the inspection.
